Meeting Information & Calendar

Mothers & More chapter meetings provide a place for women to voice the emotional and practical issues they face making the transition from being "out in the world" to being at home and maybe, back to work again.

Mothers & More East Bay Chapter emphasizes the needs of mothers.  We believe taking time for yourself will enable you to give more to others.

  • The East Bay Chapter meets every 3rd Thursday of each month.  Meetings start at 7:30 pm.
  • Meetings are held at Zion Lutheran Church, 5201 Park Boulevard, Oakland
  • Regular meetings are held at night without children, children 0-6 months are welcome though.
  • Meeting programs focus primarily on mothers' (women's) issues and interests, including childrearing topics.

January 22 - Planning Meeting. Changing of the guard! 
 
February 19 - Guest speaker on: "Aromatherapy Health and Healing"

March 7 - Sunday morning coffee at Muffins, Muffins, Cookies, and Beans in Alameda. Kids welcome.  Meet between 9 - 11 AM. Address: 2711 Encinal Ave.
 
March 18 - Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day: Informal meeting at Crogan's.
 
April 15 -  Janis Burger, Deputy Director of Every Child Counts, will provide an overview of the First Five Program--programs funded by the tobacco tax for infants through age five. (Click on Events for more details).
 
May 1 - Mother's Day Tea celebration at the The Webster House B&B in Alameda. Enjoy friendship and lots of goodies!  Time: 1-3 PM.  Address: 1238 Versailles Ave. Phone: 510-532-9676. Cost: $31.95.  Please RSVP.
 
May 20 - In honor of Mother's Day -- Join us in writing a letter to our children and packaging gifts for a women's shelter.
 
June 17 - Positive Discipline.
 
July 15 - "Secrets to Building Long and Happy Relationships" -- Dr. Lenore Caffey will discuss the keys for building strong and long lasting relationships. (Click on events for more details.)
 
August 7 - Picnic at Crab's Cove.  Families welcome. 3:00-5:00 PM.
 
Directions: Take Hwy 980 to 11/12th St. exit. Go straight on Brush St. then turn left on 5th. Enter the Posey tunnel from left lanes. When exiting the tunnel, stay on Webster St. until you get to Central, then turn right. Make first left onto McKay and park in Crab Cove Visitor Parking Center on left. Meet on beach near water.
 
Bring a packed snack or early dinner, drinks, buckets, shovels, towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, beach/water shoes, bathing suits & extra kid clothes.
 
August 19 - Open House work night & possible massage night.
 
September 16 - TBD.
 
October 21 - OPEN HOUSE Night.  Find out what Mothers and More's East Bay Chapter is all about.  Meet other moms and win prizes!  Bring a friend or two.
 
November 18 - Spirituality and your child(ren).
 
December 16 - Holiday Traditions: Old and New.  Cookie exchange: Bring 3 dozen cookies and take home 3 dozen different ones.  Even if you don't have time to bake, join us.  There are always enough cookies!
